Rebecca Turpin

English-speaking teacher - 1st / 2nd grade

Born and raised in Bordeaux to British parents, Rebecca is an ambassador for bilingual and bicultural life. Inspired by her grandmother, Rebecca has always been interested in children and education. She studied Psychology at the University of Sussex. Her thesis research focused on educational engagement tools for children on the autistic spectrum and was extended by the university into a formal project led by Professor Nicola Quill, Professor of Developmental Psychology.

After her studies, Rebecca was part of an initiative to establish the first dedicated special education needs school (SEN) in Bordeaux. She returned to the UK and worked in schools for three years in London before undertaking her teaching qualification.

Since qualifying, Rebecca has worked as a Primary Teacher at Harry Gosling School in London. She believes in the importance of harnessing children’s natural curiosity to inspire them to learn meaningfully.

She is a native speaker of French and English and also speaks Spanish to a high-level.
