IB at Lab School Paris

We are delighted to announce that as of March 11, 2024, Lab School Paris is officially recognized as an IB World School, a guarantee of quality and educational excellence. 🌟

Now certified to prepare students for the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) Diploma Programme, our school also conducts the exams. Lab School Paris will welcome its first class of IB students (DP1, equivalent to high school year 12) in September 2024.

Every student at Lab School Paris benefits from personalized attention thanks to our small class sizes, with a maximum of 15 students per class. Our building has been fully refurbished to meet IB accreditation standards, ensuring an environment conducive to our students' learning and development. 🏫

All our teachers are specially trained to teach to IB standards.
At the Lab School Paris, each student benefits from personalized support for their choices of orientation and post-bac admissions. 🎓

Finally, we encourage our students' participation in ERASMUS projects and exchanges with other international schools, offering a unique global perspective to their education. 🌍

The Lab School Paris has set up a system of tariff section that allows students, depending on their family situation and the availability of grants, to benefit from less expensive and more accessible tuition fees, thus promoting a more social mix.

We are also proud to be the first IB school to be established in the East of Paris, which changes the geographical distribution of this education and therefore enables new families to access the International Baccalaureate Program Diploma.

At Lab School, our students benefit from a diverse learning environment. Classes are taught in English by bilingual French-English teachers. In addition, French, English and Spanish as a foreign language are offered, as well as literature courses in French and English. Students with another mother tongue or language of acquisition have the opportunity to develop it independently. 🌍

In addition to language subjects, our school offers a wide range of disciplines, such as psychology, physics, biology, mathematics, music and theory of knowledge. To broaden our students' horizons, we also offer courses in economics, business management, digital society and philosophy, thanks to the IB-accredited online classroom system Pamoja.

The benefits of IB

Universities and colleges find many advantages in recruiting and admitting students who have completed IB programmes.

IB students:

  • are encouraged to think critically and solve complex problems;

  • take charge of their own learning;

  • are at the heart of educational programs that are likely to open doors to the world's most prestigious universities;

  • are more sensitive to different cultures thanks to the acquisition of a second language;

  • are capable of interacting with others in an increasingly globalized and ever-changing world.

Students at International Baccalaureate® (IB) World Schools receive a unique, stimulating and diversified education.

Through the IB, students develop :

  • time management skills and a real sense of self-motivation ;

  • a deep interest in civic engagement ;

  • outstanding academic skills;

  • strong research and written communication skills;

  • critical thinking skills;

  • an international outlook.

Research suggests, for example, that IB students are more likely than their peers to complete their undergraduate degrees and go on to pursue postgraduate studies. It also suggests that they are more likely to be involved in all aspects of university life.
