Sara Hammoutene
Science teacher in middle and high school
Sara is a science educator with international experience who considers herself a lifelong learner.
She is currently the chemistry, physics, and biology teacher for “cycle 4” at the Lab School Paris. Additionally, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the diploma program and is acting as International Baccalaureate Coordinator.
While she was born and raised in Paris, Sara started her teaching career in the United States of America, where she worked for four years in an international school based in Northern California. There she developed a sense of care and school community that will follow her throughout her career. In parallel with teaching at Northcoast Preparatory Academy, Sara taught classes at the state university to support future teachers in their implementation of the science and mathematics curriculum at the middle school level.
Later, Sara joined the Berlin Metropolitan School in Germany as part of the science team where she worked as a diploma teacher for the International Baccalaureate. This experience strengthened her knowledge of the IB framework and grew her desire to pursue her career in an International school.
As a multicultural educator, Sara is looking forward to working in a bilingual school and collaborating with the Lab School students and families on the development of the IB diploma program.
In her free time, Sara enjoys playing the bass and building her knowledge of wine-making and tasting techniques. She was also a professional volleyball player in her youth and is currently playing at a national 2 level for the sporting union of Malakoff
